A Pair of Videogame Forums Online
Today I'm going to be talking about a pair of videogame forums that I used to frequent and still visit on occasion. They are called Celestial Heavens and Heroes Community. For those of you reading that have ever played the roleplaying game series Might & Magic or the turn based strategy game series that derived from it (Heroes of Might and Magic), you may have heard of these places before. They are sources of knowledge related to these videogame series, and contain almost anything your heart could ever desire for them, from mods for Might & Magic, to new maps for Heroes of Might and Magic, and tutorials for both series.
What makes them worthy of me writing about them is not what I have mentioned above, although it is important, No, what makes them worthy is the fact that you can go over to talk about anything else as well. There are sub-forums in each site where you can talk about real-life occurrences, other videogames you may play, and (in the case of Heroes Community) even spam to your heart's content (as long as you don't break the Code of Conduct for language, among o
ther things).
In both sites, you will find the forum relevant (read: what the forum was mainly made for) sub-forums at the top of the page. They subdivide the first three Heroes of Might and Magic games into one forum (this, because they were all created by the same company). Then, Heroes 4 gets its own subforum (same company as the first three, but drastically different enough to deserve it), and finally Heroes 5 has its own subforum because it was made by Nival Interactive and not New World Computing (creator of the first four games).
The member communities in both sites are awesome, and although the moderation over at Celestial Heavens can be a bit heavy-handed, it is nothing compared to what I've seen in other forums over the years. The members are always willing to help you out if you have a problem, and beautiful friendships can even develop over time.
In essence, I joined both forums because of my love for Heroes of Might and Magic. However, once I got established, there were so many other reasons to stay. Thank you for reading and I'll see you in the forums someday (maybe)!
