Getting Away With Murder: The Truth About Kurt Cobain's Death
The Beginning
What made Kurt Cobain's success as a rock star momentarily fail? Most people will tell you he committed suicide, but he didn't. Kurt Cobain's death was set up a suicide by Courtney Love. Those who do not know him, he was and still is one of the best known songwriters and singers of the world. Throughout his life, Kurt suffered from a stomach problems as well as a heroin addiction, While in treatment for the last of the two, Kurt went missing, and soon was found dead. The police were quick to determine his death as a suicide even with thorough evidence proving otherwise. Cobain's wife Courtney Love had a motive , and she knew she could get away with a setup. Not only did she lie but she has had very violent relationships and she continues to threaten other people's lives. What was so bad about this guy that his own wife is on the bridge of pleading guilty to his murder?
Not a lot of people actuall yknow who Kurt Cobain was. He was agreat lyricist who loved to rock the world with is voice and songs. Kurt was a happy man. He was the lead singer and guitarist for a band called "Nirvana", which included; Chris Novoselic, who played bass, and Dave Grohl, who was the drummer. This Seattle band, though, used to be known as "Skid Row" in 1987. (Andrew 3) In 1994, Nirvana had their last ever shows On January 8th, they played at the Center Arena, in Seattle which was their last concert in the United States. The last sho of the world was in Munich, Germany on March first. Some people tell the community that he wasn't happy and that he really was suicidal. Kurt used to go on long heroine binges becasue of his stomach disorder. After a couple of times shooting up, he became unintentionally addicted to heroine, but he did want to quit. Cobain checked himself into several rehab centers in order to do so but each time something came up. A month before his daughter, Frances, was born he entered a center and he w
as "hooked to an IV and moaning out loud with the worst pain (he had) ever experienced" (Cobain 198) His last try was in March of 1994, at the Marina Del Rey in California, in which he ran away from on April first. Bur just because he had "escaped" medical treatment it doesn't mean he wanted to commit suicide. Amongst his values in life were "...Love your children, love your neighbors, love yourself" (Grant 104). Later he said "... I like to be with my friends. I like to be by myself" (99) Not only did he basically say that he loved himself, but he loves his daughter. Kurt said "...I can't help but cry, the thought of losing my baby haunts me everyday" (213). A suicidal man would never had said those things, and most of the society did not know that he was a man in content at the time of his death.
As soon as Kurt left that California rehab center, he was reported missing by his wife, Courtney Love. She hired a detective, Tom Grant, to find him. This is what he found out. While the couple was gone from their house, Courtney's ex-boyfriend and present babysitter, Michael "Cali" Dewitt and his girlfriend, Jessica Hopper, were staying there. On one of the nights while Kurt was missing, "Cali" and Jessica awoke to see Kurt standing in the bedroom. No words or other forms of communication were done by Kurt however "Cali" told him to call his wife. After being conviced that Cobain was a figure of his imagination, "Cali" went back to sleep. (Grant 25) Kurt, later that week on April first, called the Peninsula Hotel where his wife was staying. A hotel worked picked up the phone at 8:47am and wrote the following message for Courtney; "Husband called. Elizabeth number is (213) 850-(xxxx)" (Halperin 151). Four days later Kurt Cobain was estimated to be dead. On the eighth, an electrian found his body at about 8:40am. A supposedly "suicidal" note was found near the body in which he quoted Neil Young's "Out of the Blue." (Rees and Crampton 119) The case surrounding the death of Kurt Cobain is very mysterious in lots of ways and the evidence adjacent to it is even more unexplained
