Poseidon

Poseidon

Poseidon is the story of a shipwreck. A wonderful ship will encounter a rogue wave and will flow after many hours. While there is still time to do so, a father goes to fetch his daughter to the ship's disco. He found her out there trying to save her fiance. Accompanied by 6 other people, the father and daughter try to escape the ship, because when the father has found his daughter, the water will be engulfed across the great hall and have killed all the passengers. There begins an incredible struggle for survival, from floor to floor, avoiding the water whenever it enters a wall, they reach the bridge before plunging into the sea and call for help. The deep meaning of Poseidon is the need to fight to succeed to save his skin when there is a danger similar to that which the eight passengers have found. However, even if the film follows a pure fiction, there is in life some people strong enough to fight like fought these passengers. When we see scenes of the film, we tend to believe that no one will escape but precisely here lies the reality of the
battle for survival. Of course, we tend to believe that people like these eight passengers do not exist in reality but that is the keystone of the whole film: the avengers, heroes, police almost capable of anything really exists or we would not bother to make so many films on these three kinds of characters. We must however learn to distinguish between reality and fiction. The philosophical and poetic sense of films is based on reality but is entirely a fiction, a story invented and imagined, a romance. Can we make a film of mundane things? The answer is no. The basis for a film is an unprecedented event, a singular case. You can not make a film of my present day work if at the base nothing happened in it. We must therefore find new facts to be able to make films, and it goes without saying that shooting a film about a ship that sank without survivors can not be done. There has to be survivors for the film exists and for the fiction, general matrix of the whole film takes place in a moving, terrifying, where the passion for life eventually prevail.
