The Little Prince: A True Inpsiration

I had the opportunity to read this book way back in high school, first year I think. And I tell you, up until now, it remains one of the best inspiring books I have ever encountered. Not one book can beat its simple nature and characteristic magnificent substance.

The first time I read this book, I was attracted to it because of its simplicity in nature, heedless to the fact that the story itself would turn out also simple to the core – yet, ultimately striking in general scheme. It holds a simple lesson like that of a child's mind- simple in nature yet creative and endless with possibilities. That a child's mind is trouble-free, uncorrupted, filled with imagination and that adults, as we grow up, begin to become tainted, complicated and possessed by this worlds materialism and realism.

Because a child's mind is untainted, simple and direct, he sees the world as end
less in opportunities, creativity and imagination soars and happiness is effortless. Because of this book, I have always kept to mind that fact. As well as being a childish person myself, this book became another factor why I am never in a hurry to grow up.

Another thing is, creativity has always been an inspiration for me. Anything that fills my mind with imagination and inventiveness has always been a 'plus' for me which makes this book fit the category.

Lastly, the most inspirational line I got from the book would have to be the saying:

"All men have the stars," he answered, "but they are not the same things for different people. For some, who are travelers, the stars are guides. For others they are no more than little lights in the sky. For others, who are scholars, they are problems. For my businessman they were wealth. But all these stars are silent. You--you alone--will have the stars as no one else has them--"
